Pumpkin STEM Activities
Elementary students have been experiencing Pumpkin STEM activities in our Elementary Library. Students were invited to make a pumpkin transporter using provided materials. The challenge was they could not touch the pumpkin, yet they had to move it forward 10 ft then back again. Students constructed a catapult made with straws and connectors. After getting the catapult together they then tried to shoot the ball into a carved out pumpkin. Pumpkin Volcanoes were a huge hit. Mixing water with baking soda doesn't do much. Vinegar and baking soda cause a fun and exciting chemical reaction!! Sequoyah Elementary students love STEM!
