Sequoyah Mid High and High School
Continuous Learning Plan
Hello Sequoyah Community,
As most of you already know, the rest of this school year will be a learning experience that will be primarily web-based. We as an administrative team have been working hard to make this a positive experience for all our students. We understand that this situation is not ideal, but we will make it the best one possible to meet the needs of our students. The main objective from this point forward will be to review subject material and provide some learning opportunities and some ACT test preparation along the way with certain classes. We are trying to make this process as simple as possible for both students and parents. The process will look like this:
- E-mail will be the primary source of communication for both students and parents. All students already have a Gmail account so this is why we believe this to be the best process. This will include assignments that are attached to Google Classroom along with being the direct path for asking or answering questions your students may have. It will be EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for all students to check their emails daily. Therefore, if you have any questions please use email as the first line of communication.
REMINDER - your Google email is firstname.lastname@sps.sequoyaheagles.net
Your password is firstinitial, lastinitial, student ID number (fl105123)
If you have any questions feel free to email Jennifer Bacon (jennifer.bacon@sequoyaheagles.net)
- Google Classroom will be the platform for delivering lessons to students. It will be imperative that students will need to be able to access this online. This is something that most students have used already but if they haven’t, it should be a fairly easy process to learn. Basically students will be receiving their assignments through their email account via Google Classroom. Each student should receive no more than 2 assignments per week per subject starting April 6th. Students may log in to their Google Classroom at any time, but will only get email notifications when new assignments are added.
- Teacher Websites at www.sequoyaheagles.net will be used to inform parents of the weekly assignments for their student(s). Most teachers use a Planbook calendar on their websites to show the assignments for the week. Parents should follow the procedures below to access your students planbook for each teacher: 1) Click on Continuous Learning tab on the School Website. 2) Click on your students building. 3) Click on the teacher's name which will direct you to that teacher’s web page. 4) Once on the teacher's webpage click on the Weekly Assignments/Calendar link. 5) Then click on the date to view that week’s assignments. Please remember that this is only for viewing assignments. Students will have get assignments on their Google Classroom page/email.
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have or if you need help in any way. You may contact Josh Berg (josh.berg@sequoyaheagles.net) or Chris Osburn (chris.osburn@sequoyaheagles.net) if you need help with anything. We will gladly help anyway we can.
Yours in Education,
Josh Berg (Mid High Principal) & Chris Osburn (High School Principal)
