Elementary Students Perform Mock Surgeries

Mrs. Vanna Owens’ Sequoyah Elementary 4 th  grade students “operated” on three patients during a class assignment where they solved different questions on synonym/antonyms, text features, and adding/subtracting fractions. A local doctor and hospital generously donated the medical supplies for the mock surgeries.

Elementary Artists Celebrate

Jacob Lawrence

The Sequoyah Elementary Art Students studied the life and artwork of the African-American Artist Jacob Lawrence.  His art of bright patterns and colors portrayed life in American history and enhanced Black History Month.  The students painted a cityscape of Harlem where he grew up, using acrylic paint. Third Grade Class Wins Contest

Mrs. Post’s 3 rd  grade class was the lucky winner of an advanced screening of the movie, “Wonder,” which is currently showing in theaters. The nationwide online contest to be a “Certified Kind Classroom,” sponsored by LIONSGATE, led up to the release of the movie.
