STEM Learning Program Project

Sequoyah Lower Elementary students in Mrs. Carter’s First Grade class recently took on the challenge to build a 3-D project made of candy as part of their STEM learning program.   After constructing their project, the students had to explain its purpose, any moving parts and how they worked, along with what they used to construct it.  Projects included bridges, clocks, buildings, and multiple geometric shapes.  . . .

Elementary Artists Celebrate

Henri Matisse

Sequoyah Elementary students have discovered the abstract art of French artist, Henri Matisse. His bold use of color and shape in his paper cutouts exposed the Eagle Artists to a new medium and style of art. Each student created a masterpiece of colorful pieces of cutout paper, using their scissors as pencils. SMS Academic Teams Win in Oologah!

The Sequoyah Middle School Seventh Grade Team-1 won second place at the Area Academic Bowl Tournament held in Oologah on Jan. 25.   The team members pictured (L-R) are:  Zayne Clappe, Eli Wood (Captain), Jesse Razor, Trinity Chaney, and Sharon Holmes (Coach). The team will travel to El Reno in February for the state competition.
