Middle School Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

We had a great start to the 2024/2025 school year. The kids came ready to work and our multiple beginning of the year activities were all a success. We’ve wrapped up JH football, volleyball, softball, and cross country. Our kids competed well and represented our community in a manner we can all be proud of. Our JH softball team finished with a 20-win season. Congratulations ladies.

The first nine weeks are behind us. This year’s Carnival was a huge success with Sequoyah school district setting a new fundraising record and Sequoyah Middle School also broke our own fundraising record. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and all the community members and organizations that showed up and supported us.

Basketball, archery, and academic teams are getting ready to begin. In addition to these events our Band and Choir programs will also present their winter concerts. Our kids are active and there are multiple opportunities to get involved. Our kids love to see family and friends at their events, so please set aside some time and try to come support our kids as they represent our school and community

This is often a time when students become easily distracted. With different holidays and the winter break it sometimes is difficult to maintain one’s focus. This is also a time when families tend to take trips and kids tend to miss a little more school than usual. Please make every effort to adhere to the school calendar and have your kids here every day. It really does make a difference.
