4th Grade Academic Team Wins

  The Sequoyah Upper Elementary 4th grade academic team recently placed 2nd in the Beta Tournament hosted at Oklahoma Union School. Coached by 4th grade teacher, Janie Eaton, team members include: Liam Curry, Dwight Inkelaar, Logan Haddon, Clayton Miller and Jason Smart.

Honors Others

February’s word for Re:Co was SERVICE.  One way Re:Co acted this out was honoring Sequoyah faculty who they felt go above and beyond serving our school. Each faculty member nominated received a thank you, Starbucks gift card, and candy. Next they decided they wanted to honor those who have shown us one of the ultimate examples of serving...our veterans.  Thank you to all who sent donations for the needs . . .

Class participates in "Mystery Skype"

Sequoyah Upper Elementary 4th grade students in Mrs. Owen's classroom have participated in several "Mystery Skype" sessions this year. Their classroom pairs with another classroom from another state. None of the students know what state the other classroom is in. Students take turns asking each other questions through Skype about their Region, geography, time zone, landmarks etc to determine the state where their partner . . .

Academic All-State

Congratulations to Tori Wood, recipient of the 2019 Academic All-State Award. She is one of the top 100 seniors, selected out of 535 statewide nominees! To be nominated, students must have ACT composite of at least 30; combined SAT of at least 1370; or be selected as National Merit, National Achievement or National Hispanic Scholarship. All-Staters are selected by a committee on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular . . .
