6th Grade Math

Introduction

My name is David Beck, and I am excited to be teaching math this year. I hold an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Before entering education, I worked for five seasons as the Manager of Ticket Operations at FC Tulsa. This is my second year teaching, and I am enthusiastic about bringing my real-world experience, strong work ethic, and problem-solving mindset into the classroom. I am also proud to serve as an assistant coach to cross country and girls soccer and enjoy being actively involved in our school community.

Welcome Back from Summer Break!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back, and I hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable summer break. I’m excited to begin the new year with your student.

As we return to math class, we will be placing a heavy emphasis on the order of operations. Students will be learning how to correctly use parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction to solve multi-step expressions.

Please encourage your student to come prepared, stay engaged, and ask questions when something feels challenging. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at david.beck@sequoyaheagles.net.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Mr. Beck
